FAQs & Resources
The ACC Foundation exists to aid students with a demonstrated financial need in reaching their educational goals, while supporting the mission of ACC. Last year the Foundation assisted nearly 800 students with scholarships and financial aid.
Easy to follow guidelines are provided at www.alamancecc.edu/financial-aid-site/. To apply for Financial Aid, you will use your SelfService account information. In order to obtain aid, students must fill out the FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and ACC Foundation Scholarship application.
The Financial Aid office is located at ACC’s Carrington-Scott Campus in the Wallace Gee Building, first floor, office G116. All completed financial aid and scholarship applications must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office. The forms take at least one month to process. Please leave yourself plenty of time.
Scholarships are awarded by a committee of ACC faculty and staff. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award via SelfService and receive a scholarship packet containing an award letter, acceptance agreement and special scholarship information prior to the first day of classes. Do not pay until you know whether you have received aid. The packet will be mailed to the address ACC has on file. Please keep your personal information updated at all times.
In an effort to acknowledge the generosity of Foundation donors, scholarship recipients are asked to write a thank you note for the assistance they have received. A card, donor information and sample text are included in scholarship packets.
Students are also asked to include a photograph with their card of thanks. The photo should be wallet-size and include only the student. “Selfies” are not accepted. If needed, the Foundation will take a picture, free of charge, when the student delivers their agreement and thank you card.
Scholarship agreements, donor thank you cards, and pictures should be submitted to the ACC Foundation Office located at ACC’s Carrington-Scott Campus in the Wallace Gee Building, second floor, office G201.
Students should refer questions regarding scholarship awards to the Financial Aid Office by calling (336) 506-4340.
